Mazda CX-90 Unboxed — Performance

Much more than an evolution, the Mazda CX-90 is built from the ground up to stir emotion. As Mazda CX-90 Unboxed continues, Ant Anstead, car builder and master mechanic, gets up close to the CX-90’s inline 6 engine and puts its rear-biased AWD powertrain through its paces.

Ant joins international film star Hiroyuki Sanada, Mazda Senior Designer Yasutake Tsuchida and Powertrain Manager Jay Chen in an examination of the CX-90’s elite performance in Mazda CX-90 Unboxed.

  1. I would love to have an i-6 Mazda alongside my two four-cylinder Mazdas, but I won't buy it in an SUV form factor. Hatch or wagon, definitely. Sedan or CX-30 form factor… sure, why not. Just not an SUV.

  2. I wonder if Mazda dealerships going to inflate the price and charge consumers 5k to 10k over msrp like the KIA Telluride?

  3. @MazdaUSA By the time you release all the follow on episodes, then launch the CX90 and by the time it is available at dealerships, half the folks would have lost interest and gotten other alternatives. Little bit of teaser is good, Teasing forever you will just lose customers

  4. I just bought the 2021 CX-9 from previously owning the 2014 Mazda 6…. should have waited for the cx-90 instead.

Do you guys perhaps accept trade-ins?

  5. I’m on the brink of buying a new car and I’m going to wait for this one before I buy, excited to see it. The Cx 50 looks really good just lacks that performance I want.

  6. Slap it in an awd mazda 3! They weigh nothing and would be crazy fun! Also a little tip, People like e-breaks! Not electric power parking breaks!

  7. I know it's unwise to purchase an all new drive train when they first come out because there are almost always kinks to work out but these videos are really starting to push me into the territory where I might purchase this first run vehicle. We're in the market for a vehicle, as our G37xS has 209k miles on it. Our '18 CX-5 is going strong though with 130k miles.

  8. I dislike the new headlights design, somehow it has BWM vibe to it. Don't understand why they didn't carry on the current headlight design. It looks so much better.
The CX-60 Front & Rear light design looks disjointed. Shame…
