What an honor for him to be defeated by the next japanese tennis boss. Made sure that his legacy will continue
A changing of the guard.
Kei knows better than anyone just how hard it is to break into the Top 10, so I don’t think he was just being polite when he said that. I really hope Rei keeps pushing forward and goes even further.
Years ago, before I got married, I actually rearranged my work schedule and planned my summer vacation just so I could travel around and watch you play on the overseas tour. That’s how much I loved watching you compete.
I’ll always be grateful for the memories. Thank you, Kei.
0:17 Michael Chang I guess doesn’t count as being Asian…
Guess they mean nationality
We sure did enjoy watching you play the game of Tennis S , we gonna miss you , well done sir
arigato Nishikori san
Ŵëłdo
Thank you for the incredible moments! Kei Nishikori made me love tennis even more.
Thank you US Open
My tear uncontrollably dropped when I saw this. As an Asian, always support Asian players as they are underdogs. I still remember first watching Kei playing, then started winning many big players (David Ferrer), then climbing up and stayed consistent in top 10. Making it to the world number 4 when the Big 3 dominating the tennis, how insane is that! But too bad that he has many injuries after. Time flies
Btw, does anyone know what he said in Japanese? Thanks
You are my unforgettable memories, in Rolex Paris Masters 2016, when i and you are take a photo each other. So, arigato Kei.
I so wish he could have played in the main draw. Unfortunately injuries derailed his career. Fantastic player!
For a second there, I thought that was Shohei Ohtani. It looks almost just like him.
And the way they say his name, it almost sound like they’re just saying K Nishikori
Weird that his accent is like Lendl's
It's great to see the US Open doing this tribute to Nishikori, especially at the end with Kei and Rei together, symbolising the passing of the torch.
I hope they also do something similar for Wawrinka. To think the 2016 champion was initially not even given a wild card in his final season…
Well deserved. But he was not the first Asian man to get to an grand slam final. Only the First man to represent an asian country in a grand slam final. Michael Chang won a grand slam. Still the youngest man to win a grand Slam.
Michael Chang!!!!!!!!!
It’s Michael Chang that is the first Asian man to reach a grand slam final. Kei is the first man to represent an Asian country to be in a grand slam final.
If he had won that US Open final, I think KEI NISHIKORI have become world number 1.
Thk you Kei…..
Roger get's drone show and Kei gets a plaque. Come on US Open.
