On the first day of school of the first school year of three years before entering the university, Kotoko and her two best friends were late for the “Admissions Ceremony” and while running through the corridors of the school, Kotoko bumps into Naoki Irie and accidentally makes out with him. Naoki considers the incident as something unpleasant and disgusting, despising Kotoko for it and considers her as a clumsy, silly girl with bad grades in studies. She, meanwhile, immediately falls in love at first sight with him and hides her feelings for him for two years.
On her 18th birthday and in her third and last year of school, Kotoko decides to confess her feelings to Naoki through a letter but he rejects it in front of everyone saying that he hates stupid people. That same day back to home, Kotoko sad and heartbroken, finds that her house is on fire, the house to which she and her father Shigeo had moved just three days before. Kotoko and her father end up living ─ while they get a new home ─ at the house of an old friend of hers’ father named Machiko.
On the day of the move to that house, Kotoko soon discovers that it is the house where Naoki Irie lives and the supposed friend of her father’s is actually Naoki’s mother.
For Kotoko Aihara, fate gives her a biting new chance to win Naoki’s cold heart and she is fortunate that Naoki’s mother ─Machiko─ has a strong desire to see her son Naoki and Kotoko together as a couple. and he will help as much as possible for Kotoko to win the heart of his son.
