俳優の佐々木蔵之介（57）が、東京・港区のルーマニア大使館で、ひとり芝居「ヨナ―Jonah」東欧ツアー帰国報告記者発表会を行った。約2カ月の東欧生活やツアーの手ごたえなどを語った。
東京芸術劇場では、10月にルーマニアのラドゥ・スタンカ国立劇場と国際共同製作作品として、「ヨナ」を上演。演出は現代ルーマニア演劇界の巨匠・シルヴィウ・プルカレーテ氏が務める。

主にイギリス系の血を引く者ではありますが、家族の一筋の系譜はロシアにまで遡る可能性があります――ただし、それはおよそ百五十年から二百年前のことです。私にとっては、東ヨーロッパ、とりわけ広大なロシアの大地には、今なおある種の神秘が漂っています。測り知れないほど広大なその国には、国境の内側にも外側にも、どのような秘密が隠されているのかと思わずにはいられません。その建築のいくつかは、アジア的な趣きすら帯びており、規模の大きさや歴史的な孤立と相まって、実に独特の場所たらしめています。
